MoU signing Ceremony between Institute of Business Administration Karachi and Sindh Rural Support Organization held at IBA Karachi . The IBA Karachi through IBA Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) will support SRSO in carrying out consultancies, case study and Research Projects in terms of Trainings and Certification Courses. SRSO will be engaging IBA- CED for capacity Development programs of their field staff and beneficiaries. SRSO will also provide the educational facility for term research, internships and final year projects to the student of IBA Karachi. Back

Robo-Camp 2022 Organized at Sukkur IBA University

The Center of Excellence for Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain (CRAIB Lab), Sukkur IBA University organized 05 Days Robo Camp from July 18 to 22, 2022 for students aged between 08 to 18 years. Several Robotic platforms were introduced such as Ozobot, Thymio, Arduino Programming, NAO Robot Programming, drone coding and 3D printing. In this camp, they learned also to develop robotic applications such as smart vehicle development, Robot Human Interaction, Face Recognition, Home Automation and many more.SRSO has provided an opportunity and exposure to 33 students belongs to SRSO-managed schools in remote areas of Sukkur, Shikarpur & Kashmore-Kandhkot.15 girls participated from EMO-Hub Girls High School Sukkur and 18 Boys from GoS. supported Community Cluster Schools ( Gharhi Sahib Khan & Sohrab Khan Pahore in district Shikapur and Qaiser Khan Gujrani, Wahab Khan Bijarani & Bahadur Khan Khoso in Kandhkot) attended the camp and showed keen interest in the Robo Camp 2022 throughout the program and learned various 21st-century skills.SRSO management is grateful to Sukkur IBA University for providing innovative opportunity and learning digital technology in robotics to young students that will make them more creative in future and also provide employment opportunities in the field of robotics and artificial Intelligence. Supervision Mission of IFAD Visited in Shikarpur

Supervision Mission of The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) led by Mr Fida Muhammad IFAD’s Country Programme Officer along with Ms Sumaira Aly Country Programme Analyst and Mr Fazil Sardar Programme Manager National Poverty Graduation Programme (NPGP), visited VO Lakhi Akil Mahar of UC Wazeerabad and VO Budhal Fakeer of UC Lodrain in district Shikarpur.During interactive community dialogue NPGP assets and IFL beneficiaries and CRPs shared their transformative stories of graduating their families out of poverty and presented the progress on poverty graduation made in their Villages as a result of receiving productive assets, training and interest-free loans funded by the Government of Pakistan and IFAD under NPGP.The Mission commended the impact made by NPGP in this area and socioeconomic transformation in women’s lives and livelihood.After the field visits, the delegation had a debriefing meeting with the SRSO management and exchanged their views on the Business Innovation and incubation System and appreciated the innovations and initiatives of SRSO in the enterprise development.Meanwhile, on July 17, A progress review meeting was held in Head office Sukkur, where SRSO’s team led by Mr. Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro (CEO SRSO) presented NPGP’s progress made in Shikarpur & Kashmore to the Mission. Taraqi Ka Safar-A Journey Towards Development” A Dissemination Conference was organized under EU funded SUCCESS Program by Sindh Rural Support Organization & Rural Support Progam Network (RSPN) at DC Office Kamber. This event aims to highlight the achievements of the community and paradigm shift in their lives.Mr. Javed Nabi Khoso (Deputy Commissioner Kamber-Shahdadkot) was the chief guest of the conference. Officials of government line departments, officials of NADRA, media representatives, civil society and community leaders attended the event.Community Leaders shared detailed presentation covering their journey from being women with confined lives to independent women taking initiatives, generating livelihood, improving infrastructure, enhancing entrepreneurial capabilities, speaking up their minds and fighting for betterment with SUCCESS interventions.Their efforts were appreciated and acknowledged by guests of honor and ensured their cooperation in development activities at a broader level.In the hope of perpetuating the change that has begun, the rural community has pledged that they will never stop their journey toward progress and success even after SUCCESS. A Delegation of UNIDO-PAIDAR Visited in Thatta

A delegation of UNITED NATIONS INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (UNIDO)-PAIDAR comprised of Dr. Kaiser Bengali -Renowned Economist, Mr. Badar (UNIDO-PAIDAR), Mr. Pervaiz Ahmed Chandio (DG-PPRP-GoS), and Mr. Fida Hussain from Directorate of Urban Policy visited district Thatta and witnessed small enterprises established by rural women under Peoples’ Poverty Reduction Program.They visited VO Koshish of Village Qaim Shoro and VO Ghulam Muhammad Theengo of Village Ghulam Muhammad Theengo. The delegation was to assess the existing business model, its sustainability, and innovation in their indigenous business with an ancient rural perspective through social capital and its impact on their lives. The delegation also reviewed the goal of identifying different avenues to promote the business and enter into a new market along with the systems approach and value chain perspective. Back

11th Sartyoon sang Crafts Exhibition - 2022

A three-day 11th Sartyoon Sang Crafts Exhibition was organized at Ocean Mall, Clifton Karachi from 25 to 27 March 2022.Administrator Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahan, inaugurated and said, “We all need to be very practical in understanding the issues of women at ground level and should participate in ways of solving them that would bring changes.” According to him, handicrafts and artifacts help create harmony among different cultures. He said such platforms help Indigenous artisans market their products. “It’s the government’s responsibility not to let the work of these artisans die and appreciate the laborious work needed to create handicrafts,” he said.Appreciating the exhibition, administrator Karachi said arranging such an activity to promote artisans, handicrafts, and Sindh’s culture was also a great effort being made by the SRSO. He further said artisans dedicate their entire lives to preparing masterpieces, but their work is never appreciated in urban centers, such as Karachi, “However, these activities will certainly bring the handicrafts of Sindh into the limelight, he said. The Craft Exhibition has been organized by SRSO for the last ten years in consecutive with the motive of supporting ethical fashion and promoting the crafts of some of the most marginalized women in the province.Chief Executive Officer – SRSO, Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro said that the event’s objective was to facilitate better incomes for women artisans of rural Sindh. “We have trained more than 50,000 women from the most underdeveloped regions including Jacobabad, Kandhkot-Kashmore, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Kambar-Shahdadkot, Jaccababad, Khairpur, Sukkur, and other districts that to help these women gain maximum monetary benefit from their skills, they have incorporated urban trends into their work.”Prominent politicians, bureaucrats, journalists, members of civil society, and lawyers visited the exhibition, widely lauded the event, and expressed hope that the event could be further helpful for the development of linkages and easy market access to their skilled products. The SRSO Board members and staff wholeheartedly express their sorrow on the death of Mr. Tasneem Ahmed Siddiqui. We all acknowledge his services, contributions and support during his long-term affiliation with SRSO as founding member since its inception in May 2003.A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, he will not be forgotten. The valuable contributions extended by him during the tenure with commitment and dedication to our cause over the past 18 years, were great source of strength and inspiration to SRSO. He was a man of great intellect, vision and courage who dedicated himself to building bridges to a better future.For excellence in public service, he won Ramon Magsaysay Award and Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1999.Today we mourn the passing of a great son of the Pakistan who has left behind a powerful legacy of humility, simplicity and dedication in our struggle for democratic culture, unity, justice, peace and prosperity in Pakistan. Pray for strength for his family. Most profound condolences to the family, friends and entire development sector. MAY THE ALMIGHTY ALLAH REST HIS SOUL IN ETERNAL PEACE. Ameen! Back

Mr Ivan Borisavljevic (First counsellor-European Union Delegation) along with the CEO-SRSO, Secretory Planning and Development (Advisor SRSO), Government officials, and a team of SUCCESS Program visited different villages of district Larkana and Kamber Shahdadkot. The purpose of the visit was to witness the intervention-based impact on the community’s life over the years.In the Larkana district, the delegation witnessed CPI schemes in different villages, the handloom production units of BDGs (Khadi, Balhereji, and Taani) along with BDG Sona Hath (Clay art) and ALNS centers were visited. Mr Ivan seemed quite interested in the manual weaving of shawls.Mr. Ivan attended the inauguration ceremony of the women’s business center (Meena Bazar). He gave his valuable feedback and appreciated the efforts of the Rural Community.The delegation participated in the LSO conference in Kamber Shahdadkot. Mr. Ivan conducted a dialogue with community leaders. The community leaders shared their life-changing experiences and insightful success stories under the SUCCESS Program.In the end, Mr Ivan applauded the efforts and enthusiasm of beneficiaries and the SRSO team and emphasized consistent hard work for sustainable change, women empowerment, and rural development.
