Emergency Relief and Early Recovery For Flood Affected Across Pakistan (KOMAK)

Major Activities:

  • The British Government through the Department for International Development (DFID) has approved an emergency relief and early recovery project to meet the needs of flood affected communities in 8 districts of Sindh i.e; Kashmore-Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Jacobabad , Shahdadkot & Larkana.
  • SRSO provided services to a total of 61,344 households and 429,408 people in flood affected operational districts of Sindh and supported for early recovery needs.
  • The Komak Project has two objectives
  1. To meet the immediate water, sanitation, hygiene, and shelter needs of flood-affected communities in target districts
  2. To meet the early recovery needs (water and food security) of flood-affected communities in target districts.

The project activities included provision of:

  • Clean water kits
  • Hand pumps
  • Hygiene kits
  • Pit latrines
  • Medicated mosquito nets
  • Emergency shelters
  • Animal food supplements, and
  • Conducting hygiene-promoting awareness sessions.
