Donor: The Consortium for Health Service Delivery Contracting-Out in Pakistan, branded as IHSAS, comprising Integrated Health Services (IHS) as the lead agency with IbneSina Afghanistan and SRSO as other partners, has been awarded contracting out the project by the Government of Sindh & One UN with the financial assistance of Norwegian Government, under Norwegian Pakistan Partnership Initiative (NPPI).

Duration: 9 Months

Covering District/s: (Larkana), (Shaheed Benazir Abad).

Objective: The prime adjective of this project is to ensure quality Maternal, Newborn, Child Health Care, and Family Planning services under the Pay for Performance contract in two districts of Sindh; Shaheed Benazirabad and Larkana covering a population of 2.778 million.

The project has two major outcomes, one for the supply side and the other for strengthening the demand side through social mobilization & behavior change communication.

Major Activities:

  • SRSO with the support of a social mobilization approach organizes, mobilizes, and motivates the rural community to undertake social development activities with the formation of Community and Village Level Organizations CO and VHCs.It is solely for conceptualization, sensitization, and realization to address the social problem in respective communities which leads them to change behavior.
  • Under the project of health service delivery contracting out in Pakistan for Maternal Newborn and Child Health Service SRSO would form the 1129 health committees (HC) in district Larkana through a social mobilization strategy.
  • Target-oriented behavior change communication (BCC) dissemination campaign in identified areas.
  • Organizing community theaters at/around identified facilities.
  • Orientation of identified Ulema and Corner Meetings with Male Groups on identified/aged MNCH messages.
  • Involve local journalists, FM radio & electronic media anchors in highlighting MNCH issues.
  • Organizing Sehat Mela.
  • Provision of medical kit for FF.
