Donor/s:  Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety – Gov’t of Pakistan, and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

Partner/s: Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF)

Covering District/s: 2- (Shikarpur) and (Kashmore@Kandhkot).

Duration: IFL PHASE II (June 2021 – June 2025)

Project Objective/s:

The Interest-Free Loan – IFL program aims to support 25% of individuals and beneficiaries of the National Poverty Graduation Program – NPGP who have recently acquired assets, enabling them to generate sustainable income. This initiative focuses on those who have obtained assets within the last six months and fall within the PSC range of 0-40. By providing a grant and three cycles of IFL, the program seeks to alleviate poverty and improve economic stability. Ultimately, the goal is to enhance beneficiaries’ quality of life and provide them with a dignified, sustainable future for themselves and their families.

Major Activities:

The interest-free loan IFL program aims to assist eligible clients and NPGP beneficiaries with PSC scores (0-40) by providing IFL to help them financially. Key features include:

  1. Loan Disbursement: Loans are disbursed only through banking channels to ensure cashless transactions. This is done via tokens and cheques, promoting financial accountability and transparency.
  2. Three-3 Days Training: Eligible clients and NPGP beneficiaries receive three days of training on smart money management, alongside guidance on effectively utilizing their business plans developed during the appraisal.
  3. Monitoring and Evaluation: The program includes pre- and post-verification processes to track client progress and measure improvements in their overall circumstances.
  4. Success Sharing: Success stories from clients are documented and regularly shared with donors, highlighting the positive impact of the loans and enhancing donor engagement.
