Objectives: To secure the livelihood of older people.
To provide training on Care of carers & NCD, to families of older people.
To ensure ADL (active daily living) of Older people through providing assistive devices.
To develop community action plans with the support of indigenous knowledge of older people for DRR (disaster risk reduction).
Advocacy on the rights of older people.
To build linkage with Govt. and NGOs for working on older people.
Major Activities:
Formation of Old People Association (OPA) registration with the social welfare department.
To mobilize and establish a district-level network of OPAs for their linkages building, coordination, sharing, learning, and fundraising.
To Provide training on Non-Communicable diseases to older people, their family members, and OPAs.
Provide mobility aids to older people such as hearing aids, walking sticks, elbow crutches, wheelchairs, and walking frames.
To Provide eye screening services, ocular medicines, cataract services, and visioning glasses to deserving older people at the community level through organizing eye camps.
To conduct training on community-based disaster risk reduction and management.
To train Older People in ‘care of carers’ and the role of older people in emergencies.
To build the capability of OPAs on Older people rights, data collection, monitoring at a local level, advocacy on rights of older people, organizational development, and conflict management through arranging training.
Provision of cash grants and interest-free loans for livelihood activities.
Activities based on advocacy for older people.
Arrange Older people campaigns including ADA & unjust campaigns.
