Objectives: In 2010 super flood in the Sindh Province changed the overall scenario, Government of Sindh also intended to go along with the community and extend its support to flood-affected people in rehabilitation while providing shelters to them on a priority basis.
Village Rehabilitation Project-VRP is the Reconstruction Plan of Two Room Houses to rebuild the 7000 houses for the flood victims, initiated by the Government of Sindh. Simultaneously, some of the INGOs; WFP, USAID, UNICEF, DFID, etc.; have decided to contribute in different shapes to the completion of this big initiative.
Major Activities:
Reconstruction & Rehabilitation of 7,000 houses in three districts Shikarpur, Kashmore, and Jacobabad under the Union Council-Based Poverty Reduction Program.
43 villages have been selected and each village has 200-300 houses.
These villages have been surveyed by the SRSO and approved by the Government of Sindh for rehabilitation.
