Established in 2003, the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) is the major Rural Support Programme in
It is a not-for-profit organization registered under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984. SRSO is present in 10 districts, namely Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Naushero Feroz, Sh.Banazirabad,Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Kashmore-Kandhkot, and Qambar-Shadadkot .
The mandate of SRSO is to alleviate poverty by harnessing the people’s potential and to undertake development activities in Sindh.
SRSO covers 60% of the rural Sindh population; working; in 10 district of upper Sindh, i.e. Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Qamber-Shahdadkot, Kashmore-Kandhkot, Naushehroferoz,Sh.Banazirabad/ Sanghar, Larkana
and Jacobabad. SRSO has increased its operations from 15
Union Councils in 2003 to 395 UCs out of total 424 Union
Councils of all operational districts until 2016. In 2013 SRSO has increased its operation in district of Sh.Banazirabad and Sanghar. SRSO is currently covering 90 % of Union Councils in the SRSO operational area.
